New Porsche 911 GT2 RS Is Already Sold Out, All 1000 Of Them

Bad news for the prospective buyers of the upcoming 911 GT2 RS, as Porsche has reportedly already sold the entire production run. The new king of the 911 range was always going to be offered in limited numbers, but so far we didn’t know exactly how many of them would hit the roads. Auto Bild reports that the new GT2 RS will be produced in 1,000 examples, all of which are already spoken for. Read more » Read entire story

Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman get TechArt goodies

Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman get TechArt goodies

German tuner TechArt has unveiled its tuning package for the Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman, which introduces styling and performance enhancements. The latter sees a bump in power for both models in S guise, where the 2.5 litre turbocharged flat-four now outputs 400 hp and 480 Nm of torque. The extra 50 hp and 60 Nm help to reduce the 0-100 km/h sprint time to 3.9 seconds, which is certainly much faster than the standard car’s 4.2 seconds. Additionally, the 0-200 km/h time is now 14.2 seconds, 0.5 seconds quicker than before, and the top speed also gets bumped up to 296 km/h from 285 km/h. The uprated engine also receives a new exhaust system with two titanium central pipes that feature carbon-fibre tips. As you’d expect, the package also includes an aerokit…Read entire story

30 Years In the Past – The Porsche 924S Experience

30 Years In the Past – The Porsche 924S Experience

Go to find the keys in the key drawer. Fingers scrabble around and find the BMW key – big, chunky, buttons, no actual key. Nope. Volvo key – sleek, chunky, buttons, no actual key. Nope. There’s only one left. Round, slim plastic bow out of which sticks an actual steel shank with teeth cut out. Yep.Walk out of the house and see the lines of the 924S. Slim, low, lithe, aerodynamic, rubber spoiler, no headlights, small wheels, big tyres, huge glazed hatchback, copper colour in need of a good clean. Dirt straked behind the rear wheels. No excessive size or weight.Use the real key to unlock the passenger door. The driver’s door lock is irritable and won’t open from the outside, only in…Read entire story

Porsche 924S – An Old Friend Returns

Porsche 924S – An Old Friend Returns

Would you like to buy back one of your favourite cars? Do you regret selling any of your old favourites? I sold my 1986 Porsche 924S three years ago. Today I bought it back. The chap selling it had bought it from the bloke I’d sold it to as a project car but due to work pressures he felt he wasn’t spending enough time with it to justify keeping it. It’d been off road for several months. After he placed the ad on eBay someone pointed it out to me via twitter. I got in touch and we agreed a deal. When I sold in early 2014 it it was my daily driver. Basically it was in good condition…Read entire story

2019 Porsche Spied In Production Body – Will Use Only Turbo & Get Hybrid Option

2019 Porsche Spied In Production Body – Will Use Only Turbo & Get Hybrid Option

Porsche has only just launched the 991.2 911 and their new turbocharged flat-six engine lineup but as you can see in the photographs below, they are already hard at work on the successor. The next 911 range will exclusively use turbocharged six-cylinder engines when it arrives in 2019 (including the GT3) which ultimately marks the end of naturally aspirated units for the model line-up. When they arrive, the GT3 will deliver more than 500 hp while the ‘standard’ models are set to get a 10 to 15 hp increase when they are revealed. A hybrid 911 will also be introduced to the range in 2020. It will run…Read entire story

In Search of Ferrari, Bugatti, and the Rocketeer, 28 Hours in Los Angeles

I flew into Orange County’s John Wayne airport (for a day-job training) on Tuesday at 2 p.m.. I had Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday evening to find cars in L.A.. Was I successful? Hugely, seeing cars that some only dream of. But I also failed, to an embarrassing extent. After landing in John Wayne the first thing I did was ask my co-workers if anyone wanted to join my Tuesday afternoon adventures. No, they all wanted to sit about the hotel, drink and talk about work; sounding like my personal version of hell I ditched them quickly.Budget gave me a …Read entire story

Porsche Cayman GT4 RS On The Cards – Manual GT3 and 991 GT2 Will Arrive Before

Porsche Cayman GT4 RS On The Cards – Manual GT3 and 991 GT2 Will Arrive Before

Some insiders at Porsche have hinted at a more powerful Cayman GT4 RS but there will be a 650 horsepower 911 GT2 and manual GT3 before that potentially happens. According to AutoExpress, “insiders have confirmed talk of a possible Cayman GT4 RS”. If their sources are correct, the RS version of the extremely popular GT4 could get a 4.0-litre engine too.Porsche’s development driver and brand ambassador Walter Rohrl confirmed to Auto Express that the facelifted 911 GT3 will be offered with a six-speed manual gearbox, and is expected to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show this March. The engine will also apparently rise to 4.0-litres and …Read entire story

Watch this Porsche 911 GT2 Set a New World Record

Watch this Porsche 911 GT2 Set a New World Record

Eight-second Monster. The Porsche 911 GT2 is an utterly absurd car. Instead of the all-wheel drive system clawing at the asphalt like the 911 Turbo models, only the rear wheels are being driven by the hardcore twin-turbocharged flat-six. Now, take that insane drivetrain and add even more power. The ES2XXX 997 GT2 is what you get, and it can set world records. It can also put you into a wall really easily if you’re not incredibly skilled. At the drag strip, EKanooRacing’s ES2XXX 997 GT2 threw down the power and set a world record for the fastest and quickest Porsche in the ¼-mile with an 8.14-second run at 296.25 km/h (184.08 mph) with Mohammed Zainalabedin behind the wheel. Not only does…Read entire story

Take The Trip, Buy The Car, Ride The Bike

Someone recently said to me on Twitter that he’d love to take his Alfa Romeo on a trip to Italy. I said he should and he said it would need to be more mechanically sound than it currently is and that he’d probably never do it.This reminded me of how I once was when turning dreams into reality. I didn’t because I was too scared.Another conversation, this time with the lady who looks after my dog when I’m away. I bumped into her recently and said something that sounded funny. She said that when she knows she has to go on a long trip she worries about it beforehand but that when she actually goes on the …Read entire story

TECHART Reveal Their Insane 720 HP GTstreet R In Hulk Green

A couple of months back, TechArt teased us with some spy shots of their GTstreet R but today we have all the information and loads of pics of the green beast. The carbon fibre front apron comes with an active front spoiler to optimize airflow towards the water and oil coolers while a central air outlet helps in reducing the aerodynamic lift.
